“50 ISSUES UNDER THE SEA”
What a long, wet trip it’s been! Over the past fifty issues, Aquaman’s plunged into the wildest (and wettest) adventures imaginable!
He helped save Earth as part of the Justice League during the epic “Starro Wars.”
He made waves on the surface, creating a home at the Lighthouse of Amnesty Bay, which he eventually transformed into an Atlantean Embassy!
He was pulled back to Atlantis, where a prophecy foretold that he would take the crown and reunite the fragmented kingdom… which, of course, he ultimately did!
He met a Brine warrior who became his best friend and sidekick: the chitinous Crablad!
He championed Atlantis in its war with Amazonia, where secrets from the past of both kingdoms came to the surface.
He assumed the powers of Poseidon, becoming a god, but sacrificed his divinity to save Hades itself from flooding.
He feuded with Black Adam, leading to another war, this time between Atlantis and Khandaq.
He managed to turn even Black Adam into an ally, joining forces to help foil Vandal Savage’s “Humanity First” crusade to conquer the universe.
He resurrected the legendary sorcerer Arion to fight Dark Pyra during the “Fire from Heaven” event.
He then sided with Arion to help him defeat the tyrannical Kismet in a civil war between the Lords of Order!
Plus, he saved the inner-world of Skartaris from the Wight Queen and Klarion the Witch Boy!
Talk about a tidal wave of triumphs. No wonder our boy Arthur is ready for a bit of peace. Lucky for him, it looks like he’s finally getting it! He’s about to marry the woman he loves, Hydromancer Mera of Xebel, in what’s sure to be the undersea wedding of the century! But with Aquaman, there’s always a chance the waters might get rough. With a guest list that includes best man Crablad, groomsman Ocean Master, King Shark, and the Flash, plus Black Adam, Geo-Force, Katana, the Warlord Travis Morgan and family, Shakira (the cat woman), Shakira (the Colombian singer), Doctor Fate, and the rest of the Justice League, will this marriage ceremony go swimmingly, or will it sink the nuptials before they begin?

Writer: Grant Morrison
Art: Frank Quitely
“Whatever Happened to Rhonda Pineda?”
The Multiversal dust has cleared and an infinite number of universes exist. The results are best expressed in song:
The wonderful thing about Atomica
Is Atomica’s a wonderful thing!
She has a white dwarf shrinking belt
She’s been in a Green Lantern’s ring!
She's bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Atomica is
She’s the only one!
Rhonda Pineda is now alone in the Multiverse, on the Earth she had been on for a few years. Her next task is to find any sign of this Earth’s Rhonda. They was one, but she was a non-descript woman, a college drop-out and now, she appears to have vanished from existence. Astra, the daughter of a now lost Atomica is trapped on this Earth in the year 2025. She is a being whose parent has disappeared from existence and now she is nothing but a time-lost dimensional anomaly. This is number one of our heroine’s to do list and we suspect it’ll be a very interesting task.

“CATLIKE/GODLIKE“ part one
Barry and Wally’s relationship has been torn asunder over Barry’s allegiance to his grandfather, Mark “PDQ” Thompson. Wally believes PDQ murdered Barbara Minerva, a.k.a. the Cheetah. Barry is protecting the old speedster, and when it came to blows the Flash fight ended in a draw. Maybe there’s another way for Wally West to make things right though…
Minerva was a normal archeologist captured by natives in the lost city of Urzkartagan when she first transformed into the Cheetah (see THE FLASH #35). Her benefactor, Vandal Savage, sent her there hoping to activate her latent metagene. Savage believed his plan worked. Is that all it was, though? Because the natives saw the transformation as a religious experience… witnessing Minerva become the avatar of their Cheetah God. And gods, they say, can never truly die!
Wally quickly finds himself at the center of an Urzkartagani resurrection ritual. The air thickens with speed-force-like vibrations, and ancient memories of the cheetah god begin to resurface, revealing a darker side to the power—a primal urge to run… and to hunt!
Will Wally be overcome by the wild spirit of the fastest animal alive??

ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN #5
Plot by EXCITER
Written by MARK MILLAR
Art by JOE MADUREIRA
“A TALE OF TWO AZRAELS”
Robin now knows that his grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul, is secretly using the Command-D Compound on Gotham’s outskirts to develop a mutagen called “Cortexin” - but he had to escape before he could find out why! Is it tied to the doomsday prophecy of the Cult of Kobra?
Robin’s investigation may need to wait, however, as Jean-Paul Valley, better known as Azrael, makes his presence known in Gotham!
In Valley, who once replaced his father as the Dark Knight but ultimately failed in the role, Damian Wayne sees both a cautionary tale and a reflection of his own internal struggles. Valley and Damian were raised similarly—Valley as an assassin conditioned by the Order of St. Dumas, and Damian as a killer trained by the League of Assassins. They both left the evil organizations that raised them to become heroes, but Valley’s failure as Batman was principally due to an inability to mitigate his ingrained violent tendencies and operate within the moral framework required to wear the cape and cowl. Damian secretly worries that his own violent nature could likewise disqualify him from taking up the mantle of Batman—something he both desires and secretly fears in equal measure.
Yet there are more immediate fears to be had. Valley is in Gotham because he’s pursuing the Order of St. Dumas’ newest Azrael, his replacement: Michael Lane, a devoted zealot who recently eliminated an entire coven of witches in the city (see NEXT DAWN HALLOWEEN SPECIAL#6). Lane’s next target… is Robin!!

SENSATION COMICS #38 (50th Anniversary of the first TV Wonder Woman!)
Story by KEUM SUK GENDRY-KIM
Art by AMANDA CONNER and KEUM SUK GENDRY-KIM
Plot by CAPTCLEGHORN
“WISDOM BORN OF PAIN”
1974 draws to a close. Diana Prince has just returned from New York where she had investigated the murder of a model, Sandra Zahler. Her goal was to ascertain just how much bystander apathy there was, important as the building overlooked the misreported Kitty Genovese murder location from 10 years earlier. Frustrated by the situation and public indifference and thoroughly disgusted, Diana returns to DC.
That night she is visited by the Greek goddess Eris, goddess of strife and discord. Eris is also the mother of Ate, the goddess defeated by Diana and Ahnjayla earlier (see Visit From Outer Space, issues 33-36). Diana demands a reason for the visit. Eris smirks, then simply asks if Diana thinks she is doing any good, or making progress of any sort.
“If you think what you’re doing means anything, little girl,” Eris taunts, “would you like to see what a half century will show in change?” Diana is merely mortal and reacts with pride and some arrogance. She pleads for her own work and efforts in addition to the spirit and love of the planet’s occupants themselves.
“Very well, then, amazon. Close your eyes and when they’re open, you will see and live in December, 2024. I hope you’re ready, but I doubt you will be.”
