The Origins of the Event!
In the beginning, there was Light.
The Light held back the Void, the Empty, the Before.
The Light was Mana and Manitou, was Aether and Aṣẹ, was Orenda and Orgone, Kundalini and Qi.
The Light was Rage and Love, Fear and Compassion, Hope and Will.
The Light was all the colors of the rainbow, and all the colors unseen and unknown.
The Light was all things good and bad.
But to Maaldor, the Light was nothing but a morsel to be consumed.
The Darklord they called him, for where he treads, All Light Dies.
A walking affront to all that existed, Maaldor was opposed and, at great cost, imprisoned in the pocket dimension Blimaar — soon to be known as the Dimension Dark.
Leading the charge against Maaldor were the Maltusians.
It was the cost of the fight that lead them to abandon their homeworld of Maltus, and inevitably lead to their schism – the division of Juna from Jove, the Guardians of the Universe from the Controllers, and the Zamarons and Leprechauns from both.
After aeons of slumber, Maaldor awoke, and discovered his old foes were now divided.
The Darklord plotted a scheme to escape. He would not rush, starving though he was.
Now, his patience has been rewarded — and thanks to his loyal harbinger Malvolio, Maaldor has returned!

Angler Lord, a hulking humanoid anglerfish, is drawn out by the encroaching universal darkness. His glowing lure mesmerizes Atlantean citizens, and his expandable maw swallows them like guppies. His minions—schools of smaller anglerfish mutates—swarm forth into a new, darker world where it seems only their bioluminescence still shines.

“ALL LIGHT(NING) DIES”
Amidst the falling out between Wally West and Barry Allen, an ancient evil dims the stars and casts the universe into eternal night! Central City and the fractured Flash Family, like everyone else, are trapped in the sprawling darkness. But it gets worse. You’ve seen how speedsters generate lighting, right? You know that Barry first got his speed powers after being struck by lightning in his lab, right? That’s because [Flash Fact] lightning acts as a catalyst that connnects the physical world with extradimensional Speed Force energy. In layman’s terms, it’s the spark that ignites the engine. No lightning, no Speed Force. And in this blackout, All Light(ning) Dies!
Barry, Wally, PDQ, even the Reverse Flash—they’re cut off. Maaldor’s cosmic shroud has severed their link to super speed, rapid healing, razor-sharp reflexes, phasing, and time manipulation. They’re just ordinary people now, stranded in a Central City that’s never been more defenseless!
The City’s flat, open layout, usually a perk for a speedster, becomes a liability—nowhere to hide from the dark or the crooks who love it. Both Barry and Wally, separately, refuse to stand idle. But without their speed, the do-gooders might not survive the night…
Will the Rogues, led by Captain Cold and Heatwave, take advantage of the chaos and pull heists under the cover of darkness… or step up to try and save their City (if for no other reason than so that there’s something left to steal)?

“In Fearful Day”
ALL LIGHT DIES — FINALE
MAALDOR OF THE DIMENSION DARK menaces the universe!
He used the Central Power Battery on Oa as a portal to our universe… and now, he’s using it as a syphon for all light and energy in our universe!
That includes the Green Light of Hope and the Yellow Light of Fear!
The two Corps might be without their Power Rings… but that doesn’t mean they’re powerless.
Many of them are fighters, warriors, soldiers.
And one of their members was built to be an unstoppable war machine.
That’s right… Doomsday to the rescue!
He knocks Maaldor off balance… and then the dark master cuts him down.
But Doomsday gets back up. He always gets back up. It’s what he does.
With Doomsday buying them time, the rest of Corps has a chance to respond.
Hal, Jess and Guy manage to reset the Central Power Battery.
Their rings remain uncharged – Maaldor has consumed all traces of energy from the Central Power Battery.
But around the universe, lights brighten. Power flows.
Without the Power Battery, Maaldor is unable to parasitize the entire universe at once!
It’s the perfect opportunity for the Corps’ other response.
Sinestro and his Yellow Lanterns are able to muster some charge. Not enough to win the day, but enough to give Doomsday some reinforcement!
Meanwhile, John Stewart calls on his partner Katma Tui, who brings in her comrades — Saint Walker and the Blue Lantern Corps!
The full might of the Blue Lantern Corps, the Blue Light of Hope, unseen since the siege of Oa, manages to overwhelm Maaldor’s drain on the Power Rings.
This is the special power of Hope -- to supercharge the Green Lantern Rings, even without a Power Battery!
The blinding lights of the three Corps drives the dark lord off, to parts unknown.
The day is saved, but the Central Power Battery is depleted. It will be some time before the GLC will be able to charge their own rings again.
Sinestro is confident the Yellow Lanterns need no assistance, but the Green Lanterns don't want to resign their commission.
The Green Lanterns' newest recruit, Kyle Rayner, proposes that an alliance between with the BLC would solve the issue.
Saint Walker is hesitant — the Blues have always been secretive, ever more so since their Guardian Sayd disappeared.
But he knows that a powerless GLC invites chaos.
And so a pact is forged, sealed with a handshake between Walker and Salakk!

In Gotham, the loss of sunlight feels like the city’s natural state on steroids. It was already a grim, shadowy place, drenched in perpetual gloom even on a good day. Thugs, mobsters, gang members, and psychos thrive in the shadows, always afraid of being seen. The endless night emboldens them.

In the darkness, one fire still burns bright: the flaming sword of Azrael! Michael Lane, the latest in a centuries-old line of living weapons created by the Order of St. Dumas, has been hunting Damian. That hunt ends here. Will Robin be purged by flame in this seemingly endless night?

THE WARLORD: ALL LIGHT DIES #1
Plot by EXCITER
Written by JOE KELLY
Art by ED McGUINNESS
“THE FIRST NIGHT OF THE HOLLOW EARTH”
They say “it is always noon in Skartaris,” and that has always been true. Unlike the surface world where the Sun’s position shifts with the planet’s rotation, the “inner world” of Skartaris sits inside a hollow sphere (the Earth) with a miniature eternal “sun” fixed at its center. This central sun constantly radiates light in all directions, bathing the inner surface evenly and continuously. So it has always been… until now. Until the impossible happens: all light dies!
Travis Morgan, the Warlord, watches in horror as his realm plunges into its first night ever: an unprecedented darkness deep enough to swallow hope itself. Without the internal sun’s constant glow, Skartaris itself unravels—men panic, beasts turn feral, and ancient evils stir, sensing their time has finally come!
The Warlord was raised on the surface. He’s the only one in all of Skartaris that has ever experienced “night.” It’s up to him to hold things together. He doesn’t know why the light failed, but he knows it needs to come back soon… or Skartaris will fall.
As the air grows cold, the Warlord leads a heroic band, which includes his wife Tara Morgan and the cat-woman Shakira, on a perilous quest into Skartaris’ deepest depths, chasing whispers of a forgotten force that once birthed the inner “sun” itself. But time’s running out—the hollow Earth wasn’t built for night. Can Morgan reignite the flame, or will the hollow Earth become its own tomb?
