A glowing stone basin spitting out incalculable power lays on the ground before him, but up in the sky are two vast holes in space with an Earth starting to fall through both of them. The lines of reality are blurring as the three worlds rather then colliding begin to merge! Oh yes, and there's some kid standing in front of him called Axxess who says that only he, Stabbitty Jones, can figure out how to put the Crucible back where it belongs! Of course there are others that think they know what is best for the Crucible too, and they are more then happy to sacrifice three worlds to get what they want. Or so says the devil, Mephisto, who has also appeared. Mephisto knows the race is almost over and desperately uses the last power available to him - his silver tongue! The devil will retake what is his and damn the souls that will burn in consequence! But he's not the only one seeking to reclaim what was lost. The Beyonder is present too, and he's been manipulating the situation to put himself before the Crucible since he lost his powers... Who, if anyone, will emerge with ultimate omnipotence? Now the team is at each others' throats, no one trusting their own teammates with absolute power... but one thing that Zatanna, Etrigan, Amethyst, Azrael, Zealot, Swamp Thing, Lobo, and Kratos can all agree on is that Dr. Doomsday definitely shouldn't have that power! The Deal: The Joker is locked up once again within Arkham Asylum, having recently made a most unexpected decision in teaming with his arch-nemesis, The Caped Crusader, in what originated as a one time partnership with a mutual cause into something else entirely. The Bat has coerced The Clown Prince of Crime into being his "Inside Man," his own Batman Incorporated Agent operating within the world's most dangerous psychiatric prison. Perhaps The Bat is using a new strategy to occupy his greatest foe but instead he planted a seed inside the wicked imagination of Arkham's true super personality.

"So close, we'll get 'em next time Boss," they'll cry, those ignorant nameless goons. "Wait until we bust out of here," they'll naively sing. Rinse and repeat. Oh the mundanity manifests, the boredom blooms bluer and life is less a thrill each and every time those doors slam shut. No longer is there a rise when that Gotham sky lights up his call. The excitement is gone, the dance is over, the band is all but dead. Goodbye Gotham. Adios Arkham. Life or death has always been the game, it's just time to change the playing field. And he of all people gave new purpose. Why be just a vessel inside the constraints of prison cell when so much "good" can be done out there? 3 Days Ago: The Bundy copycat awakens. Unable to move, he finds himself tied to a table. He can hear shuffling in the room; someone is there.
3 Days From Now: Batman arrives on the roof to receive his package. He carefully opens it to see what's inside.
3 Days Ago: The Dumpster Killer leans in close to Bundy; he tells him how hard he's worked to make Gotham 'his', and no pretender will steal his limelight. Bundy has no words, only screams, as he feels DK's knife slowly enter his chest.
3 Days From Now: Batman removes Bundy's head from the box. Inside his mouth is a note: "Dear Batman...I caught him for you. You're welcome."
Now: The Dumpster killer tosses the pieces of the Bundy copycat killer into a dumpster. Completely dismembered, Bundy will no longer present a threat to DK's name. In his van, DK has kept the head; he grabs a notepad and begins to write: "Dear Batman..."

However, Batman already knows that it is rising mafiaso underboss called Matches Malone. What Nightwing and Batgirl don't know is that Matches Malone is an alter-ego of Batman!

Of course they think they are hunting the Mayor of Gotham, Logan Wayne, an ordinary man who will scream for mercy which will never come as they flay him alive slowly just as the Big Question has paid them to do! Snikt! The sound of the claws is legendary amongst those that live in the shadows, it is a sound they long never to hear! It echos down the dark sewer tunnels and the singing stops. This game is so much more serious now, but Logan must find a way of making sure that they can't figure out that Logan Wayne and Dark Claw are one and the same! He sniffs and knows instinctively who is first, Dare the Terminator. Blind, so the darkness won't even slow her down. Dangerous and motivated to carry his hide to her master, it's time for the blades to go to work.

• That night, Lionel Luthor gives a welcome speech & thanks the attendees for coming. Lois tries to get an interview, so Clark hangs back to catch his breath. His break doesn't last long however when the Charity Ball is attacked! As armed mercenaries attempt to take the place hostage, Clark slips out. Returning as Superman, he makes quick work of the thugs...but when Lex approaches him to give thanks, Superman crumples to the ground!
