AQUAMAN #46
Plot by EXCITER
Written by GEOFF JOHNS
Art by JIM LEE
“WE DRIED UP WITHOUT YOU”
Aquaman has spent months banished in the inner world of Skartaris, fighting hard to defend that savage land from a myriad of evils. As he and his compatriots have finally defeated Klarion, returned the Wight Queen’s soul, and resurrected the Warlord, Arthur plans to go home. He needs to get wet again. But what’s been going on in Atlantis since his exile?
Turns out… nothing good! And you’re going to read all about it in this issue!
Months ago…
Without Aquaman or Arion in her way, Kismet, the Lord of Order, pursues her absolutist agenda. She installs “Siren” (Mera’s twin sister Hila) as Queen of Atlantis because Kismet believes in systemic female empowerment as a method of orderliness. The willful Mera, on the other hand, has been forced to wear the Helm of Fate and become a vessel for Nabu. She’s more predictable and orderly that way. The sovereignty of Atlantian states like Xebel and the Brine has been stripped in favor of top-down control from the capital of Poseidonis. Their pesky freedoms interjected an element of chaos that was unacceptable. Artists and musicians have been divested of their occupations, pressed into service as maintenance engineers (garbage men) and network administrators. Everyone has the same haircut. Alcohol is banned. First Atlantis, and soon, the world!
Standing against this tyranny of order is a ragtag rebellion that includes King Shark, Ryus (Mera and Siren's father), and Arthur’s brother Orm (the Ocean Master). They’ve also got a special ally from the surface…
But when Kismet’s forces of order seek to finally erase their independence and autonomy by force, can even Black Adam stand against her?

“Torn Between Two Atomicas”
Wait, after the plethora of Atomicas last issue, two is a concern now? Well, yeah, because we though we knew who was the original (the one who’s the star of the book). As seen in last issue’s finish, Pariah and Atomica 1 showed up to see Alex Luthor and Atomica A. Both claim to want to return to their native dimension, and neither belongs in this one, but Pariah points out that there are truly an infinite number of alternate universes. However, only some of those have an Earth, and a fraction of those have an Earth in the right location to make transition easier otherwise, one materializes in space, or inside another celestial body. Have you wondered why is so many stories, an alternate dimension traveled to revolves around you or something close to you? There’s a rhythm or vibration to every universe and travel to those with closer vibrations is less difficult. Never easy, just less difficult.
Are these two Rhonda Pinedas the same person? If not, then what, if anything is the difference? In any case, you’ll be getting two for the price of one, but only if you buy this issue!

THE FLASH #61
Plot by EXCITER
Written by ROBERT KIRKMAN
Art by FRANK CHO
“STAND YOUR GROUND”
The Gorilla Warfare is over!
Part One of the plan went flawlessly. The Flash successfully helped Solovar liberate his son, the albino meta-ape Kolovar, from the Ultra-Humanite’s mental possession.
Part Two of the plan… well, it took a turn. Grodd and PDQ were supposed to capture the Ultra-Humanite when his consciousness was kicked out of Kolovar and returned to his original human body. His consciousness was, in fact, returned to his human body, that part worked. Butttt… he wasn’t captured. The Ultra-Humanite is dead!
So what exactly happened? PDQ swears the mad scientist left them with no choice!
Gorilla City doesn’t care. They’re happy to be rid of a terrorist and consider Grodd and PDQ heroes! Welcome to the jungle. The Flash, however, is a bit concerned that the supposedly-reformed psychic primate and his own speedster grandfather resorted to lethal force. Was it necessary?
As a world-class forensic scientist, Barry investigates the scene of the homicide… and hopes the evidence supports a finding of self-defense! What conclusions will he make?
Meanwhile, the other Flash - Wally West - hears about the incident. Having been influenced by Scandal Savage and Caitlyn Snow (f.k.a. Killer Frost), he has no doubt. PDQ is a murderer that must be brought to justice!

His being stabbed in the shower wasn’t a surprise. Inside Baron Winters’ crystal, Foster is shown to be the Sin Eater’s next victim. Winters believes the Sin Eater is approaching some state of power with every sin he consumes. He is convinced that the Sin Eater must be stopped and the Night Force must stop him. Marian Mercer, the vigilante known as Pagan wants Foster to die painfully and burn in Hell. OATH OF THE GREEN LANTERN #61
Written by Deniz Camp
Plot by H-E-D
Art by Christian Ward
“In Brightest Day”
The Green Lantern Corps have been called many things. An army. Space cops. Peacekeepers. Manhunters. Superheroes.
Call them whatever you like. They don’t care.
Because they swore an oath. An oath they renew every time they wield their power.
An oath to fight evil.
An oath to protect the innocent.
They are the emergency first responders of the universe.
They are the LANTERNS.
/////////SIX///MONTHS///LATER///////////
It has been a time of much change for the Corps. Their former leaders, the nearly extinct Guardians, have disappeared while questing to replenish their ranks.
Hal Jordan *had* taken their position… but he’s never been one for a desk job. He’s back on patrol in 2814, spending a lot of time on Earth, and just much on strange new worlds.
Lantern Salakk has taken command. His first order is to elevate the Earth-based Lanterns to the new Corps Honor Guard, in recognition of the past five years of service.
Doomsday guards Salakk. Kilowog trains the recruits.
Lantern 2814.2, John Stewart of Earth. Veteran. Architect. Hero.
Lately, he’s been lonelier than usual. His last relationship ended for… political reasons. The private information that was leaked about John by Bogar-Ve (See Issue #49!) finally hit the galactic spacewaves, and the resulting political firestorm nearly ended Arin Sur’s premiership.
So John broke things off with Arin and had his detail changed. Guy Gardner is the new GLC Ambassador to the U.P. — you can guess how much he likes that.
Now John Stewart patrols the stars, going wherever Salakk sends him.
While in Sector 1417 near Korugar, he witnesses the approach of THOTAN THE OXYGEN-SNATCHER!
This gigantic space creature travels from solar system, consuming the atmospheres of planets it passes.
It might seem obvious to say, but Korugar needs its atmosphere!
Thotan cannot be reasoned with. He’s too massive to be stopped.
But, John realizes, he can be deflected.
But even with the assistance of Princess Iolande Nol, the Green Lantern of 1417, and Soranik Natu, the local Yellow Lantern (and his ex’s daughter)… it’s no good!
Thotan’s massive form smashes right through their constructs, course uncorrected.
For a split second, John Stewart wonders if all is lost. Has he failed another planet?
But then, suddenly, his ring charge rockets to 100%. And beyond.
John turns to witness the arrival of a… Blue Lantern?
Her name is Katma Tui, and her ring has supercharged Johns’ own.
Together, these three Lanterns are able to nudge Thotan’s drift away from Korugar, in the direction the oxygen-rich but uninhabited gas giant Tartuga — a meal that will keep Thotan sated for centuries.
The day is saved!
And John has a feeling about Katma… is this the start of something beautiful?

Born of Apokolips! House of Izaya! Bane of Parademons! Slayer of Darkseid! His name is Orion...and now, he is a man without a throne! After killing his father Darkseid in a War of the Gods, Orion took the throne of Apokolips at the request of High-Father of New Genesis to bring order to the hell-planet! After defeating Haedes, Orion suffered an Identity Crisis and decided to give up his throne. He realized that he could never bring peace to Apokolips because just like him, it was a world made for war. But in the back of his mind, he remembers the words of his brother Orion: "Rule well brother, with eyes open and alert. You now have power and there are those who would seek to take that power from you, none more eager than our mother and sister! Listen well and may you live long enough to see tomorrow!"
Those words echo throughout the mind of Haedes. Now that he has the throne, he is a target for his mother and sister and any who would support them. With Tigra and Minerva plotting behind his back, he knows that his rule will not last very long. He will need allies if he is to keep his crown. But who can he trust on Apokolips, where treachery abounds like the foul air he breathes? Who can he turn to? Then, it comes to him. If he is to survive the threat of his mother and sister, he will need more than an ally. He will need..., a Miracle! Next Issue: The Undiscovered Country!
