An event 50,000 years in the making!
In the early days of humanity, one caveman found a strange meteorite that made him immortal. Since that time, the metahuman we now know as Vandal Savage and his illuminati, the Light, have manipulated the course of Earth’s history with one goal: to spur mankind’s evolution and ensure that humanity not only survives… but dominates!
And upon consolidating his power, and cracking down on non-human/alien activity on Earth, he has finally reached his endgame!
Now is the time for humanity to go forth and claim it’s glorious destiny! No longer will mankind be seen as primitive and inferior! No longer will aliens exert dominion over mankind! Today, humanity takes its rightful place as the true “Guardians of the Universe”! Today, mankind reaches the planet at the center of the Universe and claims the vast power located there for its own! Today… mankind takes over Oa!
The planetary headquarters of the Green Lantern Corps will be well defended… but Vandal has the support of the United Nations, the vast resources of the World Organization for the Advancement of Humanity (W.O.A.H.) and its legion of metahuman recruits, Atlantis, scores of robotic Manhunters, and the planet-sized super-weapon: Warworld! Moreover, he has a very specific plan…
As Ganthet orders the Green Lantern Corps to send out an S.O.S., is there anyone willing to answer the call before the balance of power on the universe is forever shifted?

AQUAMAN #24 *Humanity First Tie-In*
Written by GEOFF JOHNS
Art by JIM LEE
Atlantis, under King Orm the Ocean Master, is now loyal to Vandal Savage… and their war with Khandaq takes a decisive turn!
Savage’s global influence network ensures that Khandaq’s international support dries up. Suddenly, everyone has an Atlantis flag in their Facebook profile picture. Now, both isolated and vilified, Black Adam’s nation is used as “a warm up” for Savage’s forces before their grand invasion of the Green Lantern stronghold on Oa! Against overwhelming shock and awe, which includes Atlantis’ military, robotic Manhunters, and the metahuman forces of W.O.A.H., Khandaq is as good as obliterated…
Black Adam went from the tip of Khandaq’s offensive spear to their last hope of defense as he desperately tries to save his capital city of Shiruta, and its loyal populace, from complete destruction. But Vandal was always planning to eliminate Black Adam when his utility came to an end, and now is that time. Having carefully studied the Khandaqi sovereign, Savage has two specific mechanisms to ensure his downfall: (1) a bullet forged from the Rock of Eternity, placed in the gun of W.O.A.H. meta-marksman Straight Shooter, and (2) the psychics of the W.O.A.H. Brains division, trained to mind-control Black Adam and force him to utter the word “SHAZAM,” which will transform him back into his vulnerable, mortal form of Teth-Adam. Is this the fall of both a nation and a god?
Meanwhile, the assault allows Atlantean P.O.W.s King Shark and Crablad to escape. King Shark loves the proverbial smell of blood in the water, but Crablad finds the violence too extreme. He wishes his partner Aquaman was there, but he’s still on Mars…

HAWKGRRL, AGENT OF CHECKMATE# #2 *Humanity First Tie-In*
Written by TOM KING
Tobias (Toby) Manning and his father emigrated to Argentina from Germany in the mid 1940s. More accurately, his father was fleeing to escape a Nuremburg trial. Manning and his son fell into the gaucho lifestyle as it proved to be an effective way to hide their German heritage. This continued for a few years until an extraterrestrial agent of the organization CAW (Collective Alliance of Worlds) saw something in the boy, but killed the father.
CAW trained Toby in combat, gave him devices and weapons, and a desire to strengthen his planet. They also watched as Manning took revenge on the agent that killed his father. Seeing something in the human, CAW placed him back on Earth as a new agent serving the CAW cause. Either Manning would serve their purposes, or the disobedient Manning would show Earth they needed the services of CAW.
Manning is given the name “Terra Man” and is returned to Earth. The xenophobia is powerful and the human Manning gains popularity as a heroic figure supporting truth, justice, and the human way. His first mission for CAW is to find and take care of the Thanagarian Hawkgrrl, Thal Chayara.

HAWKWORLD *A DC Next Dawn Graphic Novel* *Humanity First Tie-In*
Written by Tim Truman and John Ostrander
Art by Tim Truman
Plot by CaptCleghorn
Thanagar. A planet revolving around the star Polaris B, over 300 light years from Earth. Thanagarians, at least the prime humanoid species on the planet, are a people needing order and structure. To that extent, they have developed a police force known as Hawks acting as many police forces do on different worlds. In fact, Thanagar sends out Hawks to investigate different world’s methods so that their system might be improved. Shayera Thal and Katar Hol were the married Hawks assigned to planet Earth. They were recalled due to unusually high interference from the organization CAW (Collective Assistance of Worlds), a group out to incorporate multiple worlds under their control. Earth is also planning an assault on the Guardians of the Universe home planet of OA. Chayera, Thal and Hol’s daughter has also been summoned to Thanagar to undertake her rite of passage into adulthood.
Thanagar is currently selecting a new leader, an Empress or Emperor. They will face a planet with possible galactic or larger war in their near future. OA has already called back their Green Lantern, Rayn Kral, of the Thangarian sector to help deal with the Earth problem. Hawks Thal and Hol accompany Kral because of their advanced knowledge of Earth.
Chayera takes her mother’s name and becomes Thal Chayera, signifying her status as an adult. Further she requests assignment to Earth, a planet of multiple governments with widely differing views. “If they are looking to attack as a planet, they have never been able to focus as a planet on anything.” she says to the acting chief officer. At this point, we see what the test for becoming a Thanagarian Hawk is and how well Thal Chayera does in taking it.
This is the book to read, because at least three series branch out of this, fans. This is going to be big.

Killer Frost wasn’t always so bad. Her metahuman power, however, has made her disposition progressively colder…

Oa poses a unique challenge, however, as the Green Lantern Corps have throughly terraformed the planet - subjugating the elements and suborning them to their technological might. Her team’s job then, as assigned by Vandal Savage himself, is to disrupt Oa’s stability by unleashing those elements…
As the invasion begins, Killer Frost disperses her team to various environmental “soft spots.” She personally travels to Oa’s South Pole - its coldest point - and summons the ice! One Corpswoman stands in her way. Arisia Rrab, an elf-like Graxosian, fights for her legacy. She boasts five Green Lanterns in her familial lineage, and she will not let that tradition end here!

The heroes of Next Dawn want to fight Vandal Savage, but Iris West does it her way: with journalism! She’s got the receipts and the sources, but with most of the world’s major media corporations beholden to Savage’s Illuminati, can Iris’ publication, the Central City Citizen, alone expose the truth? Iris pens a four-part exposé, and in “PART ONE: HISTORY’S GREATEST MONSTER,” she reveals the countless crimes of the immortal puppet-master!
Vandal Savage, then caveman Vandar Adg, was responsible for the Earth’s first genocide, eliminating the Neanderthals (see THE FLASH #6). A singular fiend, he spread brutality under countless legendary names, from Genghis Khan to Blackbeard. He advised Hitler and was responsible for giving the Nazis a speedster, Der Blitz (see THE FLASH #19). He created Gorilla City as an experiment (see THE FLASH #8), then decades later orchestrated a war in Africa to take the City down (see THE FLASH #9), using false flag tactics by destroying a U.S. Navy vessel and blaming Gorilla City (see THE FLASH #11). He assailed our intelligence community and ordered the murder of Nora Allen (that’s Barry’s mom) to end the CIA’s “Operation Humble Pie,” which was researching a (potentially weaponizable) cure for the metagene (see THE FLASH #8)!
But this is just the start. More of Savage’s crimes and the details of how he currently manipulates a globalist shadow government will be revealed in part two!
…if there is a part two! Immediately upon publication, Vandal orders her termination and sends his most zealous agents of W.O.A.H. to arrange for her “suicide.” But while Barry is fighting Vandal elsewhere, Iris finds herself with an unlikely protector: a refugee from a now fallen kingdom with a grudge against Savage - Gorilla Grodd refuses to put humanity first! Can he, Solovar, and the other mighty apes keep Iris alive?

“Evil threatens so I wear this ring
Keep innocence safe beneath my wing
Take to the skies and join the fight
Beware my power, Green Lantern’s Light!”
This is the Oath for Rayn Kral, Green Lantern for Sector 2682, containing the planet Thanagar. He has protected this sector of space but now is needed to protect the planet of OA, home to the Guardians of the Universe implementors of the Green Lantern Corps. Planet Earth is threatening universal domination starting with the taking of OA and the Guardians’ resources. Aiding Kral are Shayera Thal and Katar Hol, the Hawks who had been assigned to study law enforcement techniques on planet Earth. What they have found is that Earth is not as united as they could be and that may be the universe’s best hope.
Kral and the Hawk’s mission is to investigate in the Centauri system believed to be housing a base manufacturing Manhunters, the mechanical predecessors to the GLC. Their mission: Destroy the base. And if that wasn’t enough, the base lies very close to the dangerous planet Earth, less than a parsec and a half distant.
Helping to guard the base are Earth “heroes” Adam Strange and Captain Comet. Strange is a human transported to Rann frequently to aid that planet. Comet is a mutant of the Terran Homo Sapiens species representing them after 100,000 Earth years of evolution. Can Kral and the Hawks do enough damage to the Manhunters to leave Earth unguarded for their advance on OA?

Mongul’s eyes look out upon Warworld, the ultimate weapon.
It was long ago that Mongul found this planet-sized engine of destruction, at the time abandoned by its creators who were either gods or long-extinct conquerors. Mongul used Warworld’s incalculable armament to carve a path to glory for himself. He was unstoppable. None could defeat him. Not the Green Lantern Corps. Not the legions of Starro. He was the major universal power… until Vandal Savage and his Light. The accursed humans took Warworld from him. Worse still, Vandal Savage made sure that Mongul’s eyes would witness his beloved weapon wrested from his control forevermore.
For Mongul’s eyes now look upon Warworld from a severed head, placed on a pike, atop Warworld’s north pole…

THE QUESTION #39 *Humanity First Tie-In*
Plotter: CaptCleghorn
“Where in the World is Charles Victor Szasz?”
Part 9b: “WWHAD? (What Would Honest Abe Do?)”
Vic gets stage fright and loses his voice. He goes to the Lincoln Memorial where he is inspired by a monument attendant. He regains his voice and knocks out a powerful rendition of Man of La Mancha’s “Impossible Dream”
Wait, sorry, I fell asleep watching Gomer Pyle last night.
Despite the apparent peaceful and mature exchanges between Vic and his guest anarchist Lonnie Machin, Machin was able to drop the necessary code words to assemble his supporter to march on the U.S. Capitol demanding disbanding the nation. Manchin’s problem is that there already is a march and demonstration on the Capitol that day by those protesting the invasion of OA by UN forces and many of Earth’s metahumans.
Can Manchin pull off his plan B by deviously shifting the tone of the demonstration from “anti-war” to “anti-government”? What can Vic do to keep the protest, no matter the reason for it, peaceful? And Vic’s C-List celebrity status puts him in the public eye during the proceedings with producer Cat Grant looking for Vic to take a pro-police stance while Vic is not so sure he wants to defend an interplanetary invasion.
SPOILER ALERT: Vic pops a nitroglycerin tablet.

Humanity first? The G-Men have heard that before.
Vandal Savage might think metahumans are the ultimate examples of humanity… but to a lot of people, they’re not human, they’re the competition!
To those people, “Humanity First” is a call for genetic purity!
Leading the charge in spreading this nasty interpretation is Reverend Dominic Darrk, leader of the Church of Eternal Empowerment!
They believe that only Christ’s faithful deserve metahuman abilities — the number of non-believers among the G-Men means that Gen-Actives must be the spawn of Satan!
Seeking to make an example, Darrk sends his enforcers – a brute named Xaxol and his own daughter, Nora Darrk – to attack Basilisk and Levitation Lass at the latter’s family home!
As the rest of the G-Men are occupied with the PACIFIERS, there’s nobody to come to their aid.
Actually, that’s not true.

Rutland, VT has a Halloween parade with a superhero every year. This year is somewhat important as it’s the 50th anniversary of an unofficial crossover between Marvel and DC Comics where the writers of certain series wrote themselves into their stories that month and were given a small degree of fame for that. The surviving creators have been made honorary marshals of this year’s event. Also, travelling up from his home in Massachusetts is a fan-fic writer with a costume he hasn’t really worn in decades. Not only has the costume not stood up with progress, but it’s actually gone downhill with age. At least he won’t get stuck giving out candy this year.
In Toronto, Thal Chayara has been given her first international CHECKMATE# assignment. Readings from the small Vermont, US city of Rutland show that the periodic Halloween nexuses not seen in decades appear ready to reappear this year. Concerned that this is an opportunity for alien beings from other planets and dimensions to come to Earth, Amanda Waller asks (asks, that’s funny, as if anyone would ever say “no” to the Wall) Thal and Carrie Kelley to go to Rutland on Halloween night and attend their Halloween parade loaded with cosplayers and other costumed people. Pay attention for surprises, ghosts, and plenty of Easter Eggs as this is going to be an education in the weirder aspects of Earth society for our Thanagrian hero.
Happy Halloween!

By now, Flash knew that Vandal Savage became the first meta-human when he was exposed to a meteorite ~50,000 years ago - but nobody knew where there meteorite came from. Turns out, it was the future! Using a fusion of technology from Warworld and what he intends to plunder from Oa, in conjunction with the powers of the metahuman Parasite, Savage plans to steal the life-force from entire alien planets, infuse that life-force into a meteorite, then have the Reverse-Flash run the meteorite back in time so that its power can be absorbed by past-Vandal, thereby making him functionally immortal! He’s orchestrating his own origin!
If Flash can break the loop, he might be able to foil Vandal Savage’s plan to conquer the universe before it starts!
