“CHAOTIC GOOD”
Many people wrongly equate “chaos” with “evil” and “order” with “good.” In reality, they are two entirely separate axises. Thus, the Lords of Chaos and Lords of Order are not inherently lords of evil or goodness. Sure, there’s Klarion the Witch Boy. He was a Lord of Chaos and also evil. But then you’ve got Kismet. She’s a Lord of Order that respects rules and authority, but only as tools for manipulation and control. She’s orderly evil, and she’s already conquered Atlantis. She even defeated the incredibly powerful Black Adam. That’s… not good!
Aquaman needs to take her out to reclaim his throne. He’s affiliated with Arion (Lord of Order, good). Unfortunately, Kismet stripped Arion of his power (in AQUAMAN #39) and he doesn’t have enough magical whammy juice to take her on at the moment. Aquaman needs other allies for the fight…
Potential ally number one: Nabu (Lord of Order, neutral). Aquaman’s girlfriend Mera is currently Nabu’s avatar “Dr. Fate,” possessed by the Helmet of Fate. Aquaman asks Kent Nelson, the previous Dr. Fate, to reclaim his helmet and convince Nabu to turn against Kismet. Can the elder statesman get it done?
Potential ally number two: Serendipity (Lord of Chaos, good). The whimsical entity embodies spontaneity and creativity as a means to unseat oppressive order, aiming to liberate and empower. Can Crablad convince her to join Aquaman’s fight against Kismet?
Potential ally number three: Soultaker (chaotic neutral). The infamous sword wielded by Katana was revealed to have sentience in Skartaris, though it is willing to slay both good and evil alike. As a weapon forged of chaos itself, it may be the only thing capable of ending Kismet permanently. Will Katana voluntarily surrender the sword to Aquaman for that purpose?

“ESCALATING QUICKLY….”
The results of Barry’s crime scene investigation are in - and it looks like his grandfather, Mark “PDQ” Thompson, acted in self-defense when he killed the Ultra-Humanite! He’s cleared!
Too bad the other Flash, Wally West, isn’t buying it. He knows about Thompson’s past as the “Arms Racer,” a lethal wetworks operative during the Cold War. Worse still, he knows that Thompson collaborated with Vandal Savage before ultimately being betrayed and imprisoned by the immortal villain. Wally believes Thompson hasn’t changed and that he’s still a remorseless, manipulative killer with hidden agendas. He murdered Cheetah and worked with Grodd to cover up the premeditated killing of the Ultra-Humanite!
Barry thinks Wally has been given information from biased sources with a vendetta against PDQ, namely Scandal Savage and Caitlyn Snow. Wally thinks Barry is blinded by his desire to connect with his late mother’s family and can’t see that gramps is, at best, one of those brutal, edgy anti-hero types that thinks lethal force is cool, and he wants to turn Barry into his murderous sidekick!
Both are passionate about their positions, and they just can’t agree. Will the family-like bond between the two fastest men alive be torn apart?
Meanwhile, PDQ sits down with his son-in-law, Henry Allen. They have at least two things in common: they both spent long stints behind bars, and they both loved Nora Allen-Thompson (Barry’s mom). But Henry blames Mark for her death: if Mark never got involved with Vandal Savage, his daughter would still be alive! Mark… agrees. But he has avenged her death. And now, he wants to mend fences. Can he convince Henry to accept him after all this time… for Barry’s sake?

“In Blackest Night”
Lantern 2814.1, Hal Jordan, is back home. With less soft drink endorsements this time around.
But with the windfall Hal got from that escapade, Ferris Aircrafts is thriving. Carol is happy. He’s happy.
Especially because Hal still gets to do plenty of superheroic stunts as Green Lantern!
(And, let’s be honest, Hal would go crazy if he wasn’t allowed to leave Earth, even though that’s where all his favorite girlfriends live)
But when Earth’s new Yellow Lantern disappears, Hal is in for a rude awakening!
His investigations lead him to the Welsh countryside, right into the lair of the enigmatic LORD MALVOLIO!
Malvolio, the half human son of a rogue GLC officer, has Monk Loomis, the rookie Yellow Lantern, at his mercy.
When Malvolio hotwired his father’s old Ring, the rookie assumed the signal was Hal’s, and ran straight into the vile villain!
But there’s good news for Hal: Malvolio, working off his father’s stories, had no idea the Yellow Lantern Corp was a thing.
And so, despite desperate odds and Monk’s inexperience, the two Lanterns turn the tables on Malvolio!
As the coup de grâce, Hal manages to use his ring to restore the original programming of Malvolio’s — after which, it quickly abandons its dark master.
Malvolio, best, slinks off into the shadows, swearing revenge!
Elsewhere, on the mean streets of Los Angeles, Malvolio’s Ring chooses its new bearer:
Kyle Rayner, welcome to the Green Lantern Corps!

ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN #2
Plot by EXCITER
Written by MARK MILLAR
Art by JOE MADUREIRA
“CRUSH(ED TO DEATH)”
He was trained by both the League of Assassins and the Batman. He mastered every fighting style known to man before he reached his teens. He is fearless. Courageous. Unstoppable. He can do anything. He can… ask a girl out on a date!
Her name is Nika, but she goes by “Flatline.” She’s a metahuman with the power to absorb skills from anyone that dies in her vicinity. When they first met, she actually killed Damian (but he came back thanks to his grandfather’s Lazarus Pit - it’s not as unusual as it sounds for his family.). Flatline can now do everything Robin can do and look awesome in goth makeup and skeleton-themed attire at the same time. It’s safe to say, the young Robin is smitten!
So what’s his plan for the date that he is mustering the courage to ask her out on? Well, a Santa Priscan gang has taken over an apartment complex in the Narrows. The cops aren’t doing anything about it, so Robin has an opportunity to show Flatline a good time! And perhaps afterwards, some duck confit accompanied by truffle mashed potatoes and a side of sautéed wild mushrooms at Le Chanson de Gotham?
Elsewhere, a man named Jason Burr awakens from a prophetic dream. This man, himself, was once the subject of a prophecy. The Cult of the Kobra kidnapped him as a child and raised him in their faith, anointing him the “Naga Naga” (essentially, the Dalai Lama of Kobra). Now, Burr has received a vision he believes came directly from his serpent god. Before his sixteenth birthday, a young man will be instrumental in bringing about Kali Yuga - the Age of Chaos, in which the imperfect world is swept away. This young man… is Robin! But how will the boy wonder bring about the apocalypse? And what will Kobra do to ensure it happens?

ATOMICA #5
Plotter: CaptCleghorn
Writer: Grant Morrison
Art: Frank Quitely
“Do Astra’s Moms Have It Going On?”
Last Issue’s ending with Alex Luthor telling the Atomica’s not the current problem, it’s their kid. Blink and suddenly our heroines are in the year 2150. Astra (she uses just the one name for professional reasons) is an independent reporter not working for any of the current information services. Her present assignment is covering the activity of an AI terrorism (short for terrorist organism) out to control solar system travel and physical shipping.
Where most young women of the early 21st century would find having a daughter in her 30s living in the mid 22nd century unlikely, but when there are two extradimensional duplicates who have the power to shrink and are touched by Green Lantern energy, that option becomes far less unbelievable.
