“The Superman Challenge part 1: Whatever Happened to the Man of Steel?”
It starts out as a typical day for Superman. He prevents a car sized asteroid from smashing many of Earth’s communication satellites. He saves an island’s inhabitants in the Pacific by clogging up an erupting volcano. And to end his morning, he finds a missing idol to stop a war between two small African nations.
It’s a rare day when he can revert to his identity as reporter Clark Kent and have lunch with his paramour Lois Lane. But no one has heard of Superman in Metropolis. Clark and Lois are having lunch together, but this Clark is a farmboy from Metropolis, down to his calloused hands from a life of farming work. Now this world has superheroes and the presence of a new one, even one as pretentious as one called “Superman” is no big deal. Read Clark Kent’s interview of Superman.
And the “oh, yeah, different Earth” explanation scenario is disproven halfway through the story. Witness as the only character interested in Kal-El’s true story is the Hub City conspiracy theorist, the Question. Did we mention Lois Lane beat out the Question’s secret identity Vic Sage for the Pulitzer a few years ago? Rao bless shared universes.

“IT’S KINDA LIKE ENCINO MAN WITH SWORDS”
The STARRO WARS have ended, thanks in large part to the incredible speed of the fastest man alive... but now, if he can, Barry Allen wants nothing more than to slow down for a moment and reconnect with the loved ones he nearly lost.
One problem: there’s a cursed barbarian from Earth’s prehistory hanging in his apartment! Is Barry fast enough to help Claw the Unconquered adapt to the modern world? Big Belly Burger, HBO Max, and political correctness might be too much for a guy used to wearing a loin cloth and carrying a five-foot broadsword. But crap! Iris’ BFF Stacy Connell becomes immediately smitten with the hunk-out-of-time and demands a double date... and Barry and Iris can’t explain the situation without revealing his secret identity! Hijinks ensue!
Flash Fact: 39% of people meet their significant other through mutual friends.
A bigger problem is that the modern clone of Claw, who hates to be called Clow but will heretofore be called that anyway, has gone rogue and is on the loose. The beneficiary of both training and DNA from Vandal Savage, he’s almost certain to stick that demonic fist somewhere it doesn’t belong...
Speaking of Vandal Savage, the immortal Illuminatus seethes in his secret hideout. A filthy animal named Grodd robbed him of the killing blow on Starro. This insult will not go unanswered. He’s elected to send a top asset, Barbara Minerva, to Africa in order to end the primate menace once and for all. It’s Grodd vs. Cheetah... to the death!

“POWERLESS”
Ring Battery... 0%.
The STARRO WARS have ended, but the cost of victory was high - especially for the Green Lantern Corps. Not only did they suffer high casualties, but their planetary base of operations, Oa, was devastated. Worse still, their Central Battery was destroyed... leaving the entire Corps with no way to recharge their rings. The remaining Guardians of the Universe estimate that building a new Battery, if even possible, will take years. But just because their rings don’t have power doesn’t mean the Corps is powerless...
Laser guns. Traditional spacecraft. Guts and grit. The Green Lanterns are going to continue their mission without rings. Is this suicide? John Stewart and Hal Jordan are about to find out as they board the G.L.C.S. Interceptor for their next assignment: execute a warrant for the arrest of Brawlark, a Khund criminal victimizing innocent refugees in Starro’s wake. But Brawlark is not only armed and extremely dangerous... he also plans to resist!
Meanwhile, Guy Gardner’s Red Lantern Corps is stronger than ever (though, unsurprisingly, pissed that Jordan left them). But while a Corps fueled by rage is super effective when there’s an enemy to fight, its not as good at rendering humanitarian aid. They $&@# stuff up, not build stuff up, you know? Guy’s gotta direct his people’s anger at a punchable target before they fall apart... and he’s found one: the corrupt yet duly-elected Prime Minister of Kalanor, Despero! This certainly won’t cause more problems than it solves...
