“BLOOD IN THE WATER”
Atlantis was once the largest kingdom on Earth, advanced in the ways of both science and sorcery, made up of many sub-states, and ruled by a divine lineage of warrior Kings and Queens. Now Orm sits upon its eroded Throne, a shadow of past greatness. Hardly living up to the name “Ocean Master,” Orm controls little more than the former capital city of Poseidonis. He is willing to do anything to rebuild Atlantis, even the unthinkable... working with his accursed half-brother, the Aquaman!?!
Ironically, one of the few former Atlantean states willing to work with the throne is Xebel - a one-time penal colony. Orm tasked the Xebellian hydro-witch Mera to bring Arthur Curry back underwater... and he never could resist a redhead. This one especially.
So now Arthur is wet again, heading back to the Royal Palace with Mera and joined by a new anthropomorphic crustacean sidekick he’s christened “Crablad,” a priest of the Brine that reveres Arthur as the “soft-shell messiah.” Arthur’s not really cool with all the worship stuff, but hey, Crablad’s a solid dude. He’ll have to be, for the three will not reach Poseidonis unopposed...
The legendary Arion’s prophecy is well known below the waves. Orm believes Arthur will be accepted by many as the one foretold to reunite the seas. He can use that. But some in Atlantis disagree, viewing such an interpretation as heretical. They’d rather Atlantis rot than see it corrupted by a surface-dwelling half-breed. Will Aquaman’s “destiny” end before it even begins at the hands of extremist assassins from the fanatical terror cell, the Deluge?

“SAVAGE WORLD” part one “NO MAN IS AN ISLAND”
The last time Flash traveled through time, he really screwed up... and almost got eaten by Earth’s first speedster who, we kid you not, was a dinosaur named “Velocity-raptor.” But now he has a friend trapped in the wrong time. Claw the Unconquered belongs in the Pytharian Age - he’s got a guild of adventurers that depend on him back in that long-lost period of sword and sorcery. Only the Flash can possibly run him back there, so how can Barry not at least try to help?
Flash Fact: The Neolithic period was an era of primitive technological and social development, beginning about 10,200 BCE.
Vandal Savage has... history with the Speed Force. The first human capable of harnessing its power was his son, and all thereafter have been his descendants. Over thousands of years, he’s learned its secrets. In particular, he knows about a pocket dimension hidden within it - one caused by speedsters weakening its outer membrane. This “pocket” is where time literally leaks out, forming an island where various ages clash. Vikings battle cavemen who battle robots who battle cowboys, and so on, ad infinitum. Woe be unto those who fall into this strange timeless place, for there is no escape... from the Savage World! And all it takes for Vandal’s greatest enemies, the Flash and Claw, to fall into this accursed place... is a little push!
Attacked by Nazis, mongols, redcoats, and cyborgs, Barry finds himself without his speed and Claw without his demonic hand! Powerless strangers in this strange land, will a nearby tank provide their salvation? Or is that tank... haunted?
Meanwhile, Grodd and Cheetah continue their epic battle! Neither will relent, and only one will leave Africa alive!

GREEN LANTERN #17
Plot by EXCITER
Written by MARK MILLAR
Art by JOE MADUREIRA
“ULTIMATUM”
“Attention members of the United Planets, this is Despero, duly elected Prime Minister of Kalanor. I am in your mind. I reach out psychically to make you all aware of a grave transgression. Myself, and my world, have been attacked by a brutal criminal: the vile earthling Guy Gardner.
Last year, this human abuser destroyed an innocent Khund ship with all hands, but was not imprisoned: the Green Lantern Corps merely accepted his resignation (see GREEN LANTERN #7). Because the Corps let this murderer walk free, he assembled a gang of violent extremists and empowered them with rings. His Red Lantern Corps attempted a coup on Kalanor, an effort to unseat me and destabilize my homeworld. I prevented it. Know this, Guy Gardner will be given a fair trial and, if convicted, will be executed for his terroristic acts. But that is not enough.
On behalf of the sovereign world of Kalanor, I hereby demand that the United Planets fully defund the Green Lantern Corps and revoke its interstellar jurisdiction. The Corps must be replaced with space law enforcement that is subject to proper oversight. I will be submitting a formal application to the United Planets Council shortly. Until it is voted upon, I demand the Green Lantern Corps immediately cease all operations. If any are found entering Kalanorian space... there will be consequences.”
Despero’s long-term plan to rid himself of the Green Lanterns is finally bearing fruit. After losing their central power battery in the Starro Wars, the Corps has never been more vulnerable - and Despero seeks to deliver the killing blow. The trap is set, for he knows that...
Hal Jordan and John Stewart won’t abandon their friend to death! They’re certain that Guy has been setup from the beginning, they just can’t prove it. Nor can they just fly into Kalanor on pure willpower, seeing as their energy rings cannot be recharged. Plus, they’re under orders not to. Their boss, Ganthet, is feeling massive political pressure to temporarily capitulate to Despero’s demands. In its rebuilding phase, the Corps needs funding from the United Planets more than ever. Rash action could easily lead to a vote that makes it impossible to ever reconstruct their central battery. But rash action is what Earth’s Green Lanterns specialize in...
No rings. No powers. No jurisdiction. Hal and John are going to Kalanor. They just might not be coming back!
